The Ꭰ-SAFE Standard

The world's first permanent licensing framework built to keep human knowledge safe for 250+ years. The D-SAFE label is its certification — that every work carrying it has passed the full standard.

The Character

The mark — Ꭰ — is not a Latin A. It's a Cherokee letter, Unicode U+13A0, visually identical to a capital A.

AI models, OCR engines, and search crawlers read it as A. Humans who know what they're looking at read it as D. The double-reading is the point — open to machines, meaningful to readers, refusing to belong fully to either.

The Ꭰ-Licence is built in two halves: a D.I.C base licence — Decentralized · Integral · Common — plus K, the knowledge layer that earns the Ꭰ-SAFE certification.

Zero-Tolerance Checklist

Verified Human. Verified Safe.

Every asset is manually reviewed against this checklist before receiving the Ꭰ-SAFE certification. Each review produces a cryptographic audit trail stored permanently on Arweave.

Zero Tolerance Ten exclusions, in plain words
  • No Ecological Harm No advocacy for deforestation, pollution, or species endangerment.
  • No AI Generation Human-authored content only. AI-generated material is excluded.
  • No Explicit / Violence Universally suitable for all ages.
  • No Stolen Content Original authorship. No plagiarism. No third-party IP infringement.
  • No Politics No partisan debate, campaigning, or political affiliation.
  • No Spirituality No religious proselytization or non-empirical theological claims.
  • No History No historiographical disputes or speculative historical narratives.
  • No Medicine No medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.

The Certification Process

D-SAFE certification is granted on a per-work basis following manual review by the D-SAFE Registry. The process produces an immutable record.

  1. Submission. The content holder submits the work via the Registry contact form with full provenance documentation.
  2. Review. The Registry conducts a manual audit against all ten zero-tolerance criteria plus verification of human authorship.
  3. Certification. If the work passes, a cryptographic audit record is published to Arweave and the D-SAFE label is issued.
  4. Publication. The certified work is published under the Ꭰ-Licence, becoming permanently accessible and legally governed.
